will feature lower Antelope Canyon and Bryce Canyon

Here they are; my top choices.

This is our guide who played the native flute as we concluded the tour and faced the climb on ladders and sandhills out. 105 degrees.

As we drove back to Lake Powell over the dam wall.......
Paul's foot slipped on the accelerator to 45, instead of 25.
The local highway patrol was soon onto us and after asking us if we had rocket launchers or firearms or anything else he should be worried about, he sent us on our way without a 'citation'.

I slipped in this sneaky photo.
which was lucky as we then asked if we could take his photo and he said "no ma'am". His name was officer Troy. What a lovely boy.

In the midst of all the desert was our hotel oasis.

......then last night and this morning we did a brief reconnoitre of Bryce canyon.

It had some special features as you can see.

Over in this part of the world it was World Prairie Dog day! What a treat that was for the littluns!

Here's some old timer out sunning.

Lunch was a casual affair

Tonight we're in navajo territory in Moab, Utah. Their trading posts are really good.

A glass of Marlborough sauvignon blanc and we're set for the night. Cheers.

Hiked through a canyon

Antelope canyon was everything and more that paul could have hoped for.

.......but i'm very very tired, so will delay the posting of the top 3 out of 524 photos taken until next time.

The next post will also include Bryce canyon report and our brush with the Law.

found that hour I lost

We found that lost hour. As we crossed into Arizona again, time went backwards.
So Utah is on mountain summer time. Arizona is on standard mountain time, but on the indian reservations it's also summer time, except if you're going into a tourist zone, it's likely to be Arizona time.
If you stand on the eastern side of the mountain and gaze at the moon whilst an eagle is turning towards the sun, it can be any jolly time you want.

Farewll to Zion. Here's some views along the way.

One does have to get the blog out on time.

We were very excited when we saw these hummingbirds.

And even more excited to get a photo.

Today's thrill is getting to lake powell and tomorrow Paul will achieve his dream of getting to antelope canyon.

This guy didn't make it out.

saw Zion

Well, we made it out of Vegas with the shirts on our back; in fact Paul has 5 new ones.

The scenery was less than inspiring 30 mins out of vegas.

.....but definitely Improved.

.....had lunch in St George and met a lovely clean cut polite young man named Colton at the Black Bear diner.

Apparently Colton is not an unusual name in Utah. (I have a lovely clean cut polite nephew in Oz called Colton)

On the road again, and the mountains got just that little bit more impressive.

We managed to lose an hour passing from Nevada, through Arizona into Utah, but I'm sure we'll find it somewhere.

We did get to meet one of the locals.

got very sore feet

Slept in, but that's just meant that we're still up at midnight.

Here's what we did.

Breakfast buffet. A must in vegas.

Gaped at Dale chiluly glass in Bellagio foyer.

Shopped. Paul won the prize again. Not sure what's going on here.

Funnily enough these live in the Flamingo hotel and casino.

Found Dora for Colton.

Drinks drunk before dinner.

Time to turn the lights out I think.

took our 3rd flight in 3 days

We're a bit lost in time and space, buot w eknow we have to keep flying today.

As I've suggested what goes on in vegas stays in vegas, but I'll let you into a few secrets.

This is where the baccanale at caesar's palace begins. Mind you at 110 degrees, who's got the energy?

Gambling and martinis are a must.

You meet all sorts.

Paris for diiner is nice.

Got through customs and immigration in record time.

Unbelievable. The goddess of air travel rewarded us. We were first in the queue at immigration, were told to throw away our green forms and quickly sent through to our bags.
We were staggered when our priority marked bags came through as such.

A quick waltz through customs and we were on US soil.

No photos for any of this of course because we'd be shot. Homeland security aren't known for their sense of humour.

Myles, we watched as your shuttle went past the hotel shuttle stop. Your hotel does exist.

The trolley to manhattan beach was fabbo.

Here it is with a wonderful esplanade.

Sorry about you having to move into a yoga position for this photo. I'm still learning how to edit.

Lessa and Tony, here's Mama D's.

For a couple of mill, you can pick up a house here.

It was a bit exhausting.
Here's Paul having a little nap while we waited for the trolley bus.

Myles, note what the trolley bus stop looks like.

Anyway the day ended well in the bar at the hilton
