It is appropriately called a Museum. The artefacts and performance pieces really are all about novelty and wonder. (Sometimes as in I wonder why that is displayed)
The first part of the experienc is catching the Mona ferry. Trevor the parrot is there to keep you company, and of course a barista/barperson, in case you have need of a libation for the arduous 30 minute cruise.

It was noteworthy that you tend to spend more of your time reading the info on the i Pod, instead of absorbing the pieces. They don't have artist statements on the wall. You can save your route and the information about your favourite works and receive it via email.
There is odd engaging piece... Such as this interactive ping pong table.
Lunch was at the wine bar at the winery that is conveniently atop thhe Museum. The alcoholic ginger beer was fairly good.
And out in the open, there was a band setting up to play.

And on the ferry ride home, a last piece of street art. Funnily enough, one of the postings said "sod this go to GOMA" ( Gallery of Modern Art, in Brisbane)
Our review: We had a fantastic day out. The building, the experience, the food, the novelty was wonderful.
I hated the Ipods, too distracting.
The 'art' was there in a space that was too dark for me and for the most part didn't evoke much emotion from me; Neither love or hate.
It is well worth a visit, but I'd be interested in your opinion.
I think your summary is very accurate.A must visit for place and experience but "art" left me unmoved excepting a couple of pieces. Must get the boat trip next time
